PARENT COMMITMENT
-
I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, and officials at every game and practice.
-
I will place the emotional and physical well being of my child ahead of my personal desire to win.
-
I will support coaches and officials working with my child, in order to provide a positive experience for all.
-
I will remember the game is for the girls-not the adults.
-
I will ask my child to treat players, coaches, officials, and opponents with respect.
-
I will have my child at as many team practices and games as possible, I will inform coaches of an absence as early in advance as possible. This program believes that family is very important and things will come up.
-
I will not coach from the stands.
-
I will use the 24-hour rule when talking to coaches after games or practices.
-
I will encourage my child to participate in other sports, this creates great athletes.
-
I will not talk negatively about other players, or coaches in front of my child.
-
I will support fundraising efforts put forth by this program.
Here is the toughest part
-
I will be a silent source of encouragement during my child's games. This is especially important at the younger age levels. Fastpitch requires focus and concentration, and most of the time parents and fans are sitting fairly close to players as they are hitting, on deck, catching or pitching. Please let the coaches have your child's attention and let your child focus on them, and the game. Imagine yelling into the quarterback’s ear right before he snaps the ball. This sounds tough, but it is actually relaxing when you let your child play, and the coaches coach, and you get to sit back and enjoy the game!
